Find your perfect car
It’s quick and easy to find your perfect car with AutoVolo
AutoVolo.co.uk is a portal that provides an ambitious service which is positioned to meet all your motor related needs. Whether you’re in the market to buy or sell a car, AutoVolo.co.uk has a strong network of dealerships and private sellers to make sure you find everything you need all in one place.
Of course there are other services out there apart from AutoVolo. One of the more established players you’ve probably heard of is Autotrader, which is currently well known in the marketplace for buying and selling new and used vehicles in the UK. Bigger isn’t always better, which is why we’ve decided to take a closer look between AutoVolo and Autotrader to help you decide which is best for you.
As mentioned previously, Autotrader is the most well known online vehicle marketplace in the UK. However, this is partly due to the fact that Autotrader has been in the market for decades (going back to the paper magazine era) whilst AutoVolo launched in 2015 and is less than 5 years old. AutoVolo is the fastest growing automotive site in the UK, having grown drastically from 17,000 cars when launched on 23 August 2015 to over 300,000 cars available online today.
AutoVolo also has plans for van and motorbike trading services which are coming soon to expand our offering in the UK marketplace.
AutoVolo boasts an advanced search option. It includes everything you’d expect - minimum and maximum price, make, model and mileage. It also allows you to search by type of car - estate, hatchback, SUV etcetera. And, if you want to be even more specific in your search, there are now options for CO2 emissions and annual tax.
AutoVolo also features a unique search tool for multiple makes and models of car at the same time - so you can choose to browse through mixed results of say saloons, hatchbacks and estates to suit your budget without having to make individual searches for one particular make and model at a time. This is a great way to keep your options open while shopping around.
Autotrader also offer a comprehensive selection of search criteria, allowing you to search by acceleration, fuel consumption and insurance group. Also, a ‘monthly price’ choice gives a different pricing search option.
When it comes to selling your car, one key difference between AutoVolo and Autotrader is that AutoVolo’s pricing model does not vary with the valuation of your car. Instead, AutoVolo offer three fixed rates for a set listing: Silver (£17.77), Gold (£27.77) and Platinum (£37.77). Silver ads are live for fifteen days, Gold ads for twenty five days and Platinum ads for forty five days.
All three rates allow for 20 photos to be uploaded, but Gold and Platinum allow for a highlighted photo in the advert. Furthermore, Platinum means that your advert is shared on Facebook as well as on MyCarTrader.co.uk’s site, increasing the amount of people who will see it. Even more, Platinum allows for the inclusion of a video of the car with your ad.
Furthemore, AutoVolo will soon be introducing a pay per lead pricing model, meaning that you only pay when your advert generates a lead. This way, you are only billed for the times that your advert is successful.
Autotrader have three different pricing plans, and the cost depends on the value of your car. The three different tiers are: cars less than one thousand pounds, cars from one to ten thousand pounds and then cars over ten thousand pounds. The three pricing plans are Basic, Standard and Premium.
Basic is the cheapest option. With Basic, you can uploaded a limited amount of photos and your advert is only on the site for two weeks (or only one week if your car is worth less than one thousand pounds). This is free for cars worth less than one thousand pounds, costs £36.95 for cars in the middle bracket (£1,001 - £10,000), and £39.95 for cars worth more than ten thousand pounds.
Next up is Standard, which gives you more photos and a longer listing time of three weeks for your advert. Autotrader claim that ads at this level get twice as many views as those at basic level - which is not so surprising given the fact that they are listed for longer. This costs £9.95 for cars under one thousand pounds, £46.95 for the middle bracket (£1,001 - £10,000), and £49.95 for the over ten thousand pound cars.
Finally, there is the Premium offer. This gives the longest listing time of six weeks. The prices here are £19.95 for the cheapest cars (under one thousand pounds), £58.95 for the middle tier (£1,001 - £10,000) and £64.95 for cars over ten thousand pounds.
Ultimately listing a car that is worth more than one thousand pounds on Autotrader is going to be more expensive than listing it on AutoVolo in almost every scenario. Of course, if you have a car that is valued at less than one thousand pounds, Autotrader’s free listing is an option to consider - but bear in mind this only includes a one week advert.
It’s also worth pointing out that AutoVolo’s Platinum listing is up for longer than any listing available from Autotrader, and costs less.
