The CC in Ford Focus CC stands for ‘coupé-cabriolet’ and reflects the car’s automatic folding metal roof, which gives you the best of both worlds. During chilly weather, it’s a quiet and comfortable coupé; when the sun comes out, it’s a sleek, relaxed cabriolet with seating for four.

It was introduced in 2006 and was on sale until 2010, based on the second-generation Focus. It received a facelift in 2008 with a new grille, restyled headlights and a significantly upgraded interior. The roof folds into the large boot when the weather is good enough to warrant it. There’s a choice of three engines: a 98bhp 1.6-litre petrol in entry-level CC-1 trim cars, and a choice of 2.0-litre engines in more luxurious CC-2 and CC-3 trimmed vehicles. The petrol version has 142bhp, and the excellent turbo diesel has 134bhp.

The standard Focus’ smart handling characteristics have been carried over into the CC, and all are generously equipped, with air conditioning, alloy wheels and fog lights standard across the range. Top-spec CC-3 trim includes cruise control, part-leather upholstery and an in-dash CD multichanger.
