The Honda Legend is a mid-sized executive saloon, sold in two generations in the UK between 1991 and 2007.

The first generation was on sale for a marathon 13 years, while the second lasted just two years on the UK market. Neither sold in massive numbers, which is a pity because both are luxuriously-appointed, with powerful V6 petrol engines, excellent build quality and fantastic reliability.

The second generation sold more strongly than the first, thanks to impressively sporty handling - the result of all-wheel drive and a 295bhp engine. The interior is sophisticated and modern-looking, with slick, hi-tech controls and lots of standard equipment, including active noise cancellation and satellite navigation. Thanks to a lack of luxury brand prestige, used prices are cheap and the Legend is something of a bargain - just make sure you can afford the fuel, tax and insurance, which will be pricey.
