The Nissan Terrano was produced between 1993 and 2006 and – despite being sold via a relatively small network of dealers in this country – it performed well. The vehicle is available in three and five-door body styles, as well as a limited number of long wheelbase models that create room for an extra two seats.

This practical mid-size SUV delivers a more than capable off-road experience and has a proven track record of reliability. Its rugged good looks are augmented by eye-catching components that include lightweight alloy wheels, while time-saving fixtures include electric wing mirrors.

The Terrano delivers space for a family of five inside – and most models come with air conditioning and front electric windows. Post-1996 editions of this vehicle feature a tilt-adjustable steering wheel and deliver power steering. Some variants are additionally specified with components such as satellite navigation and/or rear parking sensors. Boot space in five-seat models is 335 litres, rising to as much as 1,650 litres with rear seats folded.

This 4x4 was fitted has been fitted with a variety of engines in its time, including a 2.4-litre 122bhp petrol unit and a 2.7-litre 100bhp turbo-diesel engine. Each was revised in 1996 to deliver more power (125bhp in the latter’s case) and torque. A 3.0-litre diesel unit was made available from 2002 onwards. This produces 154bhp and 304Nm of torque, which enables the vehicle to tow as much as 3,000kg.
