The current-generation equivalent is powered by a 2.0-litre 221bhp diesel unit, which is attached to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and produces 470Nm of torque and 0-60mph in 7.6 seconds. It also manages to return as much as 50mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 149g/km.

The XC90 was awarded a five-star Euro NCAP rating in 2015 and includes a panoply of safety features, such as rear-mounted sensors that help to take the challenge out of parking.
